Unbelievable Beauty
A neighborhood with homes built between the 1930’s and the 1950’s, the neighborhood offers an eclectic mix of Art-Deco architecture as well as mid-century modern architecture integrated with elements native to the island like the renowned “losa criolla”, tiles with eccentric designs that have continued to live on in Puerto Rican architecture since the end of the 19th century.
Modernism with original charm
One of our most important goals was maintaining the architecture the closest to the original state. Electrical wiring and plumbing in the rooms was done with little impact to the original to avoid altering the infrastructure and damaging the house. The result is a completely modern house with eco-friendly elements that bring it to the 21st century while still maintaining its original charm.
Unique Neighborhood
Tourist-friendly with an array of museums, restaurants, hotels and clubs for all type of visitors, the neighborhood blends one-family houses with small bed & breakfasts and small condominiums and it is within walking distance to the best beach in the metropolitan area.
REMODELED AND RENOVATED
Monsita 2029 is two-story 1950’s residence that has been remodeled and renovated to accommodate 7 fully independent rooms in total. Undergoing the renovation process, “losa criolla” was found on the premises and restored to their original state.
Guest Reviews
Very clean environment. Small green area that gives a lot of life to the neighborhood and to the building. Seeing the other guests and getting to meet them was fun since they're all from different places. We all shared the kitchen and exchanged food we were no longer going to use. We also shared food we prepared which was good to save money and time.
This really was a unique place to stay at because of how the venue was divided. You still have your privacy but you can see other guests and talk to them if you like. The entrances to the rooms are individual, so you don't bother anybody and you don't need keys to enter the premises since it's accessed with a unique passcode.
Everyone should visit this hidden gem close to the best beach in San Juan. The facilities are clean and well though out. The hosts are very organized and know what they are doing. They were very friendly and caring about every single guest. It's great not having to worry about the keys... and knowing that once inside you have everything you need! Loved using the outdoor common kitchen. Will stay again!
